You Can't Hide Your Glam Away, Get It Out For Christmas

Christmas is upon us and stockings fill with the melancholy of absent friends and family members perhaps no longer with us, faces of ghosts we thought we’d slain flicker in the lights and haunt our Christmas Eve dreams.

Yet for all of these reasons Christmas is beautiful and magical, other ghosts appear from nowhere, people remember and tell stories of those gone, and Christmas lights sparkle and make even the shadiest shithole shine.

So don’t cry yourself to sleep at Christmas, put on your finest threads, kife your grannies Baileys, download the Christmas mixtape, and get your Glam out for Christmas!

Fishin' Rod Reel Handle

A new magazine has surfaced from the underworld and they had the privilege of having me to do a mix for them. The zine contains stories of drinking, fishing, music, sex, parties, sex parties, friendships, drinking, and any other shenanigans that the hardcore fishermen and fisherwoman get up to along the banks.

They might come crawling back for a Christmas mix soon so stay tuned.

Those Days Are More Than Just Days

As I head for the exit at the Green Man festival I pass the dying embers of last nights fire, the seating logs appear empty, but I can see the ghosts of the weekend, I can hear the stories and the laughs and Richman dancing in the lesbian bar, and I can feel the sorrow setting in as the time to say goodbye sneaks up with the fading smoke.

“What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? - It’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and its good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies”

The Comet Returns

I woke up to a comic sized package waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, but when I opened it to read about the latest escapades of Booster Gold and his Justice League International I was in for a shock. For lurking inside the package wasn’t a comic, it was something far stranger and magical; the sound of a ghost train slithering through a spaghetti western with eerie ad-libs and shouts spewing over the sides like Bonejangles and his Bone Boys doing “Ghost Riders in the Sky”.

Of course, it’s the new epic Flipron single “The Comet Returns”, the ad-libs and shouts coming from the legendary Specials front man Neville Staple. It will be released 10th September via Tiny Dog Records with the new album Firework Shoes following in October, so save your pennies to get a seat on the ride!

Blue Tack Baby!

Stumbled upon this nugget via Eddie Argos, gonna play this at least 3 times at my next shindig! Providing I win my appeal against my worldwide Discotheque ban for crimes against ‘trad’ that is. Wish me luck.

I Fucked The Queen

Back on the road tomorrow for some discotheque action at London’s finest indie night; If You Tolerate BIS, Kenickie Will Be Next. Neil and Anna are guest DJs and I might hit the decks for a hardcore Rick Astley session if i'm not spotted early on and end up being man-marked by a 7ft bouncer with a skinhead. If the latter applies you'll find me dancing like Dean Moriarty in a brothel to the sounds of sweet sweet Pop music.

Don't forget its jubilee weekend...

So get your t-shirts here, your gimp suites here and bring your best plans for the desturction of the monarchy!

I Guess Things Happen That Way

“It happens sometimes. Friends come in and out of our lives, like busboys in a restaurant.”

The subtle sadness of a childhood ebbing endlessly away lingers evoking melancholic nostalgia. Suddenly it seems the people you used to see everyday on the streets and in the parks are not there anymore, people change, friends drift apart and go separate ways where the road splits, some will never meet again and not feel a thing, others will remain eternally connected even if they no longer know where to find one another. Kermit the frog had it on lockdown: “Life is made up of meetings and partings. That is the way of it”. I don't like it, but i guess things happen that way.
