Christmas Advent #17 – Countdown To Christmas

Christmas is only a week away. So here's the epic Glam Chops, featuring Eddie Argos and the boys getting their Glam out for Christmas like Wizard spinning upside down on a barrel of Crumpton Oaks in the corner of the best discotheque ever.

Christmas Advent #16 – The Generation That Nobody Remembered

Bursting from the door today is 10 years of pissing on Zane Lowe’s smirking face and the whole of 6 Music's “indie” back catalogue via The Indelicates.

As our pal Eddie Argos said “…the Indelicates have been my favourite new band in every end of year poll I’ve been asked to complete in the last four years, but that is not enough. They are going to become the answer to every question put to me…”

The Indelicates are back and armed with another cluster of nuggets that kick up shimmering shit-storms in 'Elevator Music'

Life's Too Short For Lists...

Even with the endless time I have on my hands on the frosty riverbanks, between glorious battles with the Taff's Rainbow Trout, I find it hard to comprehend anything involving end of year lists, Dogging Tales just came on TV adding further discouragement to my already fragile willpower, but even so, there's a page that needs filling, and as the self proclaimed king of filler material, here’s a list with some of the music that shined like the stars on a crisp clear night through the murky fogs, shady shadows, and heaps of shit of 2013:

The All About - Suburban Heart (Bandcamp)

Cherry Glazerr - Papa Cremp (Bandcamp)

The Death of Pop (Bandcamp)

The Star You Fell In Love To Comes Out On Christmas Eve (Christmas Mix)

Christmas is in the air along the frosty river banks, the grass sparkles like the stars with the morning frost, our mortality shines clearer and brighter than them all at this time of year. In the ice, reflections of Christmas’ past stare back; scalextrics with dodgy transformers, Frank Fish with his latex waders shagging that snow-woman he built after one too many candle-wax-whiskies, family members no longer swimming in our waters doing the rounds on Christmas day, pints of Baileys going down the hatch like cold cans of lilt, aching hearts wandering the streets searching for that feeling lost somewhere along the way as ever familiar landscapes whisper in the darkness.

I was young once

Blue Tack Baby!

Stumbled upon this nugget via Eddie Argos, gonna play this at least 3 times at my next shindig! Providing I win my appeal against my worldwide Discotheque ban for crimes against ‘trad’ that is. Wish me luck.

Countdown to Christmas

There’s nothing quite like snow covered mountain tops at Christmas, it’s the icing on top of the sweet, sweet cake that is serving up delicious lumps of disbelief amongst the lifeless couch potatoes, starving them of their daily fix of pathetic nothingness as the signal fails to reach the satellite dish.

Whilst people were “moaning at the snow because their cars wouldn’t go” I put together a Christmas mix cd, which contains mostly the same gems as every other year but with a few new sparkling snowflakes that have just reached me.

So go grab your hat and jumper that your granny just made you, go get your friends off the phone to sky, and kick up a fuss and have some fun! And don’t forget to put glitter and a keytar on your Christmas list, because theres no substitute for Glam at Christmas!

A Song For Today #1 - Art Brut - DC Comics and Chocolate Milkshake

"I'm in love with a girl in my comic shop / She's a girl who likes comics /She probably gets that a lot"

Today I woke up at 2:30, had some strawberry milkshake, watched Batman and Superman for a few hours and then played football until the light faded. And like Eddie Argos I've often been accused of having Peter Pan Syndrome...
